Huskisson is just incredible. There is so much to see and do. Everything about the place is beautiful, its history, its image, just everything. I love this place. Being reminded of Huskisson makes me so happy. Just thinking about it puts a huge smile on my face. I recommend this as the perfect holiday destination.

Mooney Mooney Creek – Monday, 18th February 2013.
Everyone slept in as a result of their late night last night. It had been a very relaxing day so far. It was hot but we had just had lunch. So, we waited for that to settle before we could go for a swim. After waiting and applying sunscreen we decided that we would all go down to Mooney Mooney Creek, or as we call it, ‘The Lagoon.’
Mooney Mooney Creek is located between Vincentia and Huskisson and is a very popular spot for families especially those with younger children. It is a safe and protected area for kids to swim and snorkel. This is good in our case given that we have many young children in my family. Walking down there we weren’t quite sure of what the tide would be like. We got there and the tide was on its way out. There was still a fair amount water in it though. The water almost completely clears out when the tide is low and reaches shoulder height when the tide is high.
The Lagoon is a cool place to hang out and relax, with astonishing views of the ocean all around you. The kids built sandcastles and the adults lay down in the refreshing water without a care in the world. In the shallows you could see schools of fish swimming past you. My cousins and I were trying to catch them but they were just too fast for us.
Nobody knew what the time was when we were down there but given that it was starting to get dark we figured we should return to where we were staying.
Dolphin Watch Cruise – Saturday, 16th February 2013.
Today was a lovely day. Everyone was awake before the sun. Morning walks along the beach, watching the sunrise over Point Perpendicular. We checked the weather forecast and the weather was said to be perfect, all day. This was wonderful for us, given that we had organised to go on the Dolphin Watch Cruise later that day. We all got together to take our family picture. Then we drove out to the jetty where we would get on the boat. We waited at the wharf for around 15 minutes for everything to be sorted before we could get on.
The boat was named ‘The Spirit of Jervis Bay’ and was a 17 metre catamaran with five separate viewing platforms, including a 360 degree sundeck. It contained an area where you could purchase food, sit down and enjoy it. There were many people on the boat along with my family. The boat was huge but very crowded. The boat started and off we went. There was morning tea served inside which was biscuits and slices. There was also a place to make your own tea and coffee. My cousins and I bought some potato chips from the little shop. We stood at the front of the boat and my Auntie took pictures of us all. It was so windy and the salty sea water was splashing up onto us, although we still managed to smile for the pictures.
We’d been on the boat for only twenty minutes before we saw our first pod of dolphins. It was amazing. They were jumping in and out of the water like they were actually putting on a show for us. Dolphins really are magnificent creatures. We saw around forty of them over the duration of the boat trip.
The dolphins were a grey colour and looked glossy as they glided in and out of the water doing flips and swimming around each other. Only a few of them jumped out of the water and making little splashes. In no time at all, our adventure had come to an end. Getting off the boat our legs were all wobbly. Overall, the experience was incredible, add that to your 'must do' list!
Huskisson is a small village-like town in New South Wales, Australia. It is situated in the City of Shoalhaven, on the shores of Jervis Bay. Alongside Currambene Creek which serves also as an anchorage and fishing port. Huskisson is a prime tourist destination, with some of the whitest beaches in the world and beautiful, crystal blue waters. Fishing, diving, snorkelling and sailing are all popular activities, while the beaches are pristine, well-protected and great for families.
